JANINE, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
I was incredibly lucky to marry my first love. André and I have been a couple since 2016, when we were just 16 years old. We’ve grown into adulthood together, step by step. Graduating from school, completing our vocational training, getting our driver’s licenses and everything in between; we have always gone through life as a team. We share the same values—especially when it comes to family—and have a wonderful circle of friends.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL.
The proposal took place on New Year’s Eve 2024, featuring a ring that my father—a master goldsmith—had crafted exactly to my specifications. Although everyone else was in on the secret, they still managed to surprise me completely.
DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.
I had held a vision of our wedding in my mind for years—yet my personal style evolved over time. In the past, I likely would have chosen a whimsical dress featuring plenty of lace and sparkle—exactly the kind of gown my bridesmaids would have expected. However, in recent years, my style has become significantly simpler and more elegant—a shift that initially left me feeling a bit unsure of myself.
In the end, I found the courage to choose what truly resonated with me. The moment I put on my gown—Essense of Australia Style D3232—all my doubts vanished. Clean lines and exquisite fabric made the dress truly unique despite its simplicity and flattered my figure beautifully. I did make one small concession to my more playful side: I added a sparkling belt and a veil with a delicate shimmering trim, creating what felt like the perfect balance for me.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE AT TRUE SOCIETY.
After several unsuccessful visits to other bridal shops, I traveled all the way from Augsburg to True Society in Stuttgart, hoping to finally find my dream dress. I managed to secure an appointment on the very last day of their sample sale and was warmly welcomed.
Together with my mom, mother-in-law and sister, I began the fitting while André waited for us at a café around the corner. When I slipped into my dress, it fit perfectly right away. No major alterations needed, no doubts whatsoever. It quickly became clear: this is THE dress. The fact that I was allowed to take it home with me right then and there made the day absolutely perfect.
The consultation itself was wonderful. My Bridal Stylist took plenty of time, applied absolutely no pressure and catered precisely to my wishes. The store manager also showed genuine interest—I felt truly seen and valued throughout the entire experience.
Then, shortly before the wedding, came the shock: I had my dress shortened slightly at a local shop near my home, and the train—which I had initially considered having removed but then decided to keep—was irrevocably cut off. Yet, even in this situation, the True Society team didn’t leave me in the lurch. I was spontaneously given another appointment; everyone showed immense understanding and helped me find a beautiful alternative—an extra-long veil featuring beaded trim that perfectly complemented the pearl-embellished belt I had chosen to go with my dress.
Nervousness turned into relief, and a moment of panic ultimately turned into a happy ending—and, above all, I am left with the lasting feeling that I was exactly where I was meant to be.

Part of my family lives in Poland—a country that holds a special place in my heart, and one that many of our German relatives and friends had never visited before. From his very first visit there, André shared this love for the country with me. Although he had no prior connection to Poland, it was immediately clear to him that this was the place where we would get married. My family is scattered across more than five different countries. There was nothing I wished for more than to finally bring all the people I love together in one place.
Weranda Home proved to be the perfect venue; everyone was able to stay on-site and enjoy our time together to the fullest. The festivities began the evening before with a relaxed arrival and introductions. On the wedding day, we kicked things off with a communal breakfast. The ceremony was deeply emotional, and the entire day was defined by a sense of gratitude and togetherness. André and I each danced with our grandparents, and the unforgettable moments shared with our friends were so sentimental.
To wrap things up, we organized a guided tour of Poznań to show our guests my beautiful hometown—the perfect conclusion to a weekend that we will carry in our hearts forever.
