Expert Q&A with: Patrick from Die Fotobox Stuttgart
Take a look behind the lens as the professionals from Die Fotobox Stuttgart share their secrets for creating the ultimate interactive experience for you and your guests.
Photo booths have become a popular feature at weddings. What makes them such a memorable part of the overall wedding experience?
“A photo booth creates a relaxed, informal atmosphere where guests can capture memories spontaneously. It is the mix of fun, interaction and genuine emotions that makes it a highlight of every wedding. Often, these are the most honest and funniest moments of the evening. Additionally, guests can take a physical keepsake home immediately, which ensures the memory really sticks with them.”
When should couples ideally book their photo booth, and what should they keep in mind regarding timeline and budget?
“We recommend booking early, ideally as soon as your venue is confirmed, as popular dates fill up quickly. It is important to integrate the photo booth well into your schedule by starting at the reception or right after dinner. When budgeting, consider services like unlimited printing, custom designs, and on-site support to ensure everything runs smoothly.”
Every wedding has its own unique style. How do you adapt the design of your photo booth, from layouts to overlays, to match the overall aesthetic of the celebration?
“We customize every photo layout individually to match the wedding style, from colors and fonts to small design elements. We often take inspiration from the invitations, the decor or the color concept of the celebration. This creates a cohesive look that fits each wedding. We always provide a preview in advance so the couple can see exactly how the photos will look.”
How does the wedding dress influence the photo booth experience, and which silhouettes tend to look especially striking in photo booth pictures?
“The wedding dress plays a huge role because it is the center of attention in the photos. Wedding dresses with clear lines or flowing fabrics look beautiful and come across well even in movement. However, the most important thing is that the bride feels comfortable because you can see that immediately in every image. Photo booths often capture more relaxed, spontaneous shots that show off the bridal look differently than traditional photography.”

Expert Tip: To get the most out of your experience, consciously plan the photo booth into your wedding timeline and have your wedding party, DJ or bridesmaids actively encourage guests to use it.
What role do lighting, backdrop and placement within the venue play in achieving beautiful and high-quality photo booth images?
“Lighting, backdrops and locations have a massive impact on image quality. Even, high-quality lighting ensures that photos look clear and flattering regardless of the venue’s ambient light. A calm, clean backdrop helps keep the focus on the people. It’s also vital to ensure there is enough space for large group shots and that the booth is easily accessible for all guests.”
Where should a photo booth ideally be positioned so that it is well used while still blending into the celebration?
“The photo booth should be accessible but not positioned right in the center of the action. A slightly quieter corner has proven successful, as guests often feel less self-conscious and more relaxed in front of the lens there. This leads to the most natural and spontaneous pictures. Just ensure there is enough physical space for groups and that the setup matches the venue’s aesthetic.”
You offer a classic photo booth, a photo mirror and a 360-degree video booth. How can couples decide which option best suits their wedding?
“We offer a wide spectrum to suit every wedding. The classic photo booth is the most flexible solution, ideal for involving as many guests as possible. The photo mirror is more elegant and fits perfectly with high-end, stylish celebrations. For couples who want a real showstopper and modern, moving memories, the 360-degree video booth is the ultimate choice.”
You recently collaborated with us at True Society in Stuttgart, bringing your photo booth in-store and creating a special styled shoot together. What was that experience like and what made it stand out?
“Working with True Society in Stuttgart was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere in the store and the combination of high-quality wedding dresses with our setup harmonized perfectly. It was wonderful to capture authentic and emotional moments that reflect the true character of such a special day. These kinds of creative projects are what make our work so exciting.”

A photo booth creates instant keepsakes for every guest. In your opinion, what makes a printed photo so meaningful in today’s digital world?
“A printed photo has a special impact because you can hold it in your hands and take it home. It’s not just an image; it’s a tangible piece of a specific moment. In a digital age where things are easily forgotten, a physical photo stays present longer. Many guests keep these pictures for years or hang them up, which is what makes them so valuable.”
What is your number one piece of advice for couples who want to make the most of their photo booth experience on their wedding day?
“Our most important tip is to consciously plan the photo booth into the schedule and actively draw guests’ attention to it. It often helps if the wedding party or the DJ mentions it occasionally. Furthermore, enough time should be planned so that everyone truly has the chance to use it. Ultimately, the more relaxed the atmosphere, the better the pictures, as the most beautiful moments happen all by themselves.”
