ERIN, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
Braden is the sweetest, most thoughtful and amazing person I know. We met online and had been dating for a couple of years before we got engaged.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROPOSAL LIKE?
The proposal was perfect, it was incredibly thoughtful, and private with just the two of us, and better than I could have ever imagined.
DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.
I love flowers, and everything colouful, so for our wedding, I wanted to go for a more floral/ethereal style. The second I tried on my dress – Stella York Style 8063 – it was pretty obvious to myself and everyone I brought with me that it was the right fit, because I had the biggest smile on my face. I kept trying on dresses, but I couldn’t stop coming back to that one, it just felt right.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE AT TRUE SOCIETY.
I shopped at True Society in Rosebery. I loved how supportive everyone at the store was, if there was a dress that I didn’t feel comfortable in, they were quick to help me change into a new one. I never felt pressured to try on anything that didn’t match what I was looking for. And fun fact, my dress consultant was also getting married – on the exact same day!
HOW DID YOU FEEL IN YOUR GOWN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
I was so excited to get into my dress on the day, I had to keep holding myself back from getting dressed too early! I felt so beautiful and comfortable in my dress on the day, I still get the urge to wear my dress around the house when I’m at home.
HOW DID YOUR PARTNER REACT WHEN THEY SAW YOU IN YOUR WEDDING DRESS?
When Braden saw me walking down the aisle, he got the biggest, goofiest smile on his face, which perfectly matched the one I was also sporting.
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.
We got engaged in a wattle garden, so all of our wedding stationery had little illustrations of wattle on them. My husband and I are also big nerds, so while our guests were waiting for the wedding to start, we had instrumental covers of soundtracks to different movies and games playing in the church.
WHAT WAS THE MOST SPECIAL MEMORY FROM THE DAY?
I think one of our favourite memories from the day was when at our reception, we took a few minutes to go outside, away from everyone and just be together, just the two of us, soaking in the fact that we were married.
DID YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL, CULTURAL OR FAMILY TRADITIONS THAT YOU INCORPORATED?
My mother sadly passed a few years ago, so to have her with me, I carried a piece of lace of hers that I tied around my wedding bouquet, as well as a pearl necklace that she gave me.
