The Proposal
Funny story! Stephen planned a trip with another couple we are friends with for my 30th birthday. We went to Las Vegas for 3 days and then were off to Cabo to meet more friends for 4 days. Our last night in Vegas we had reservations at this really nice steak house. Earlier that day I went shopping with my Best friend and the whole day I was feeling dehydrated and honestly hungover. Like most days I thought this would pass. Then the emotions started getting the best of me as the day went on and it was time to get ready.
The boys were getting in their suits and I was uncontrollably sick. I was experiencing my first ever panic attack because I knew Stephen was going to propose. Long story short, Stephen went to that dinner as the 3rd wheel with my best friend and her husband. I stayed behind on my death bed. One of our friends even sent a celebratory bottle of Champagne to the table : / A few days later after I was back to normal Stephen proposed on the beach in Cabo and I was completely caught off guard because I knew I already ruined it in Vegas! It was on the beach at sunset and it was 100% better than it would have been in Vegas! I just claim I was trying to play hard to get until the very end 🙂
Finding the Perfect Wedding Dress
I wanted to be classic but also feel sexy. Everything I was drawn to had a sheer bodice but I didn’t want it to look like lingerie. When it came to my shopping experience it was underwhelming and I wasn’t finding the one. I had three appointments at other places before setting up an appointment with Belle Vogue at a bridal fair. I walked into True Society by Belle Vogue Bridal and loved that I could see all the dresses and pick them out. It was the first one I tried on and I was obsessed.
All the Wedding Details
We wanted our wedding to be fun and relaxed. The colors were pretty neutral with the boys in blue suits and the girls in gray dresses. The decor was blush and ivory with compliments of greenery. One of our favorite details were our table #’s that had pictures of Stephen and me at every age from 1-14. Besides this, we tried to incorporate personal touches in our dances with our Mom/Dad. Stephen did a voice-over at the beginning of his song he danced to with his Mom and it was the sweetest thing.
The thing I remember most about my wedding day was when I walked down the aisle with my dad and saw my husband Stephen just lose it. He cried so hard and it was so cute. I expected him to shed a few tears but he was completely overcome by emotion and it was the best!
