Country chic meets garden elegance for Katelyn and Travis’ October wedding day. From the venue’s breathtaking white barn to the red and white floral arrangements, every element was flawlessly curated. Even this True Bride’s dress was right on par with the rustic romance vibes!
When Katelyn visited True Society by Belle Vogue Bridal in Lenexa, Kansas, she found her dream dress in Essense of Australia Style D2548, a gown she had to keep under wraps for two whole years due to the COVID-19 pandemic! Her patience paid off when she and Travis said “I do” at White Iron Ridge in Smithville, Missouri. The layered lace wedding dress looked just as dreamy on her as the day she found it in the salon!

Tell us about your love! How was the proposal?
Travis proposed to me at Lily Lake in Colorado during a hiking trip. He said he knew from our first date that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He bought the ring before the trip and then waited for the perfect opportunity. He proposed at that spot because “it was a place we could bring our children and we would always be able to get to, even when we are 90” — it was perfect!
Describe your bridal style. How did you want to feel on your wedding day?
It was so important to me to capture an elegant, classic bridal look while also adding in a sexy component. As our engagement was during COVID-19, I kept my dress a big secret for two years. I only brought my mom shopping with me at True Society by Belle Vogue Bridal, and we tried many different styles before figuring out exactly what dress worked for me. She cried, I cried and then there were lots of tears during the other reveals.
In your own words, tell us more about your wedding. What was your theme? How did you personalize your wedding with your love story?
We went for a romantic, garden-wedding feel with a mix of country style. It was the perfect blend of who we are as a couple. We focused a lot on bringing natural greenery into our decor. For us, our wedding day was truly about celebrating with the people we love the most, and we tried to make the most of that. We made it a three-day event, with a welcome dinner and a day-after brunch surrounding our wedding day. We wrote personal notes to our guests, made sure our wedding team felt like they were part of our family and only followed traditions that worked for us.
Cheers to Katelyn & Travis!
