After meeting during their final year of university, True Bride Jess and Jacob have grown up side by side, moving cities, building a home together and creating a life of their own. They celebrated their love with an intimate South Coast wedding surrounded by rolling hills, ocean views and their closest friends and family.
Jess’ bridal appointment at True Society in Rosebery became one of her favorite memories from the wedding planning process. The True Crew understood her vision, and the very first gown they selected ended up being the gown she wore on her wedding day.
Drawn to timeless, romantic styles, Jess chose Martina Liana Style 1704. A gown that balances classic elegance with romantic drama.

JESS, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?

Jacob and I met during the last year of university and have been together ever since. Over the years, we’ve moved cities, built a home together and grown up alongside one another. By the time he proposed, it felt less like the beginning of something new and more like the natural next chapter in our story.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROPOSAL LIKE?
Our proposal was incredibly special. We spent the day horseback riding through the countryside, and at the end of the day, he asked me to marry him. It was completely unexpected and a moment I’ll treasure forever.

DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.
I have always been drawn to timeless, romantic styles rather than anything overly trendy. On my wedding day, I wanted to feel elegant, feminine and entirely myself. What I loved about my wedding dress was the balance it struck between softness and drama. The silhouette felt classic, while the floral detailing and movement added a sense of romance. It was one of those rare dresses that felt beautiful without feeling like it was wearing me.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE AT TRUE SOCIETY.

What I appreciated most about my experience at True Society was how effortless the True Crew made the process feel. They quickly understood my style and curated a collection of dresses that felt perfectly aligned with what I was looking for. In fact, the very first dress they chose for me was the one I wore on my wedding day.
Looking back, finding my dress remains one of my favorite memories from the wedding planning journey. I never felt rushed and always felt supported throughout the experience. The True Crew made what could have been an overwhelming decision feel straightforward.
HOW DID YOU FEEL IN YOUR GOWN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
On the day itself, I felt surprisingly calm. Once my dress was on, everything seemed to fall into place. Looking back at the pictures, I still feel it reflected exactly how I wanted the day to feel—romantic, timeless and joyful. More than anything, I felt comfortable, confident and completely present, which is ultimately what made it my dream dress.

HOW DID JACOB REACT WHEN HE SAW YOU IN YOUR WEDDING DRESS?
As I walked down the aisle, I could see the emotion on Jacob’s face as he saw me in my dress for the first time. He looked completely overwhelmed in the sweetest way.
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.
We wanted our wedding day to feel like us. We chose a beautiful spot on the South Coast that brought together so many things we love—the ocean, rolling hills, horses, sheep, cows, a magnificent old tree and, most importantly, our favorite people. With fewer than 25 guests, the day felt wonderfully intimate and relaxed.

WHAT WAS THE MOST SPECIAL MEMORY FROM THE DAY?
One of the most memorable moments came just before dinner. We surprised each guest with a handwritten letter and a picture of either Jacob or me with them from a different stage of life. Writing the letters took months, but it felt important to tell the people we love how much they mean to us. There were plenty of tears around the room when everyone began reading them.
DID YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL, CULTURAL OR FAMILY TRADITIONS THAT YOU INCORPORATED?
We incorporated a Chinese tradition by giving our guests sweets to take home, symbolizing joy in our marriage and sharing that happiness with our family and friends. We paired the sweets with custom canvas bags as keepsakes from the day.
