COURTNEY, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
November of 2019 is when it all started. I was home in Kansas City for a weekend and decided to go out with friends at the local hockey bar. Little did I know Josh was going to walk into my life that night, and thanks to mutual friends, he did.
Ater we met, we talked daily, but with Josh living in Kansas City and me living in St. Louis, it made things a little difficult. The weekend trips were great, but they weren’t enough. Come March 2020, my office shut down, and we got our shot at being together. I moved back to Kansas City, and we spent almost every day together.
In October of 2022, we took a vacation to Paris that we had been planning for over a year. We went to a dinner overlooking Paris at sunset. You could see everything from Moulin Rouge and Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower. To say it was breathtaking would be an understatement.
Josh had told me that after dinner we were going on a boat ride on the Seine River for a nightcap. As we approached the loading area, there it was, the words “marry me” lit up with rose petals all around, champagne, the Eiffel Tower night show, and most importantly, our song playing in the background. Josh had reached out to a local photographer to make sure everything was captured perfectly.
After the happy tears settled, we spent the night sitting along the Seine River in front of the Eiffel Tower calling our family and friends back home to share the exciting news. It most certainly was a night to remember.
DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.
I knew I wanted something timeless and romantic, but a stunner! I wanted to feel like a princess without the princess gown. Going into wedding dress shopping, I was set on a fit-and-flare or an A-line gown. However, after trying on an A-line, I knew that wasn’t the style for me. I fell in love with Essense of Australia Style D2887 and it checked all the boxes for me! I felt the most beautiful I had in a while, and it was unforgettable.

Our wedding was perfect! Josh and I are both hopeless romantics, and we wanted our wedding to show that. Everything from the venue to the dress to the simple decorations screamed timeless and romantic.
The day itself was so special, but I would say seeing both Josh and my dad for the first time were my favorite moments. Both first looks were filled with intimate and raw emotions. I also loved spending time with my bridal party before the ceremony. We had so much fun just being with our favorite people!
