True Bride Anna & Jin

True bride Anna and Jin

Some love stories are written in perfect balance—and Anna and Jin’s is a beautiful blend of opposites, cultures and heartfelt moments. From meeting on Hinge to a joy-filled destination proposal in Fiji, their journey to “I do” is as meaningful as it is charming.

For her wedding day, True Bride Anna envisioned a look that felt classically elegant with just the right amount of drama, and she found exactly that at True Society in Rosebery. Anna wore Stella York Style SY8123, a striking gown crafted from sheer organza, designed to flatter and finished with a soft, floral-inspired flare. The moment she tried it on, she knew it was the one.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Hunter Valley, Anna and Jin’s wedding was a joyful celebration of love, family and the coming together of two cultures. With meaningful details woven throughout the day and unforgettable moments on and off the dance floor, their celebration was a true reflection of who they are. Continue reading for more details about their love story and their wedding day.

ANNA, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?

Ah, my partner, Jin. He is truly the yin to my yang. I’m the extroverted academic and social media enthusiast, and he’s the introverted lawyer who doesn’t even have a social media handle. We actually met on Hinge!

WHAT WAS THE PROPOSAL LIKE?

His proposal was both special and wonderfully funny. He proposed during our trip to Fiji. After a spa session, I walked into a room filled with flowers, balloons and candles, and the love of my life on one knee with the most gorgeous ring. In his nerves and excitement, he forgot to ask the question… so I had to prompt him!

DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE AND TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE AT TRUE SOCIETY.

My bridal style is classy, understated elegance, with a little bit of drama, just like me! I initially thought I wanted something much simpler, but none of the dresses I tried made me feel the way I wanted to. But then the floor manager at True Society in Rosebery brought out THE dress, Stella York Style SY8123. I gasped. It was unique, fitted in all the right places and had this beautiful flair that reminded me of a flower; perfect for my spring wedding theme, Romance in Bloom. The dress was everything and more.

My experience at True Society in Roseberry was the best bridal experience! From the moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed by everyone, especially my two stylists. They explained how the whole process works, took my measurements, gave me a tour of the store, helped me pick my dresses and were SO patient and kind the entire time.

While most bridal stores would rush you to leave once your appointment time was over, they kept on bringing me dresses to make sure I found the one, never rushing me. While I only brought my godmum with me, I felt like I had a whole cheer squad with me that day. I literally was in happy tears when I tried my dress on for the first time.

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.

On our wedding day, Jin had the biggest grin on his face when he saw me walk down the aisle. It instantly reminded me of the grin he had on our first date, when he told me I looked even better than he had imagined.

The day itself was so very special as we celebrated the coming together of two cultures. Our wedding hashtag was #WhenCurryMetKimchi, reflecting our backgrounds and the joy of blending them.

One of my most treasured memories was getting ready at the beautiful Villa Toscana in the Hunter Valley. I have always loved the beauty of the vineyard and rustic mansions in Tuscany, and having a piece of the dream right here at the Hunter Valley was a dream. I also loved my first look with my family.

Another unforgettable moment was dancing to Love Story by Taylor Swift at the end of our reception. I grew up listening to that song, and getting to live my own love story with the love of my life made it incredibly special.
