This middle school to marriage love story warms our hearts! True Bride Monica and Dylan met in the seventh grade and found love years later, leading to a dream wedding filled with family, friends and special touches.
Monica found her dream modest dress with vintage details that paired with the historic charm of her Oregon venue.
MONICA, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
Dylan and I met in middle school. We were paired at the same table in seventh grade science class and were best friends every day after! I moved away, and we saw each other at least one or two times a year and spoke often on the phone.

I moved home earlier this year, and he immediately confessed his feelings, which I had as well. We dated for two months before he proposed to me on a hike on the Oregon Coast with a ring even prettier than I had ever thought would be given to me. He didn’t see my dress until I walked down the aisle, and I will be honest, his eyes were glued to my face. When I asked him about the dress afterwards, he said I looked absolutely beautiful.
DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE AND TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE AT TRUE SOCIETY
I dreamt of a conservative and modest style with vintage details. I wanted a high neck, sleeves, lining and lace to feel like a princess. We found just that at True Society by The White Dress in Beaverton. I could not have felt more comfortable and beautiful in Stella York Style SY8126. My dress was everything I could have ever dreamt up and more—I didn’t want to take it off!

I came in just to look and hopefully find something off-the-rack since my wedding was 2 months away. I was paired with Izzy and could not have had a better experience. She helped me try on amazing dresses until I tried on THE one. When you know, you know! She worked with my mom and the ordering system to ensure I would have my dress in time to have fittings before my big day. I left True Society feeling like a princess.
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.
Our wedding was small and so special! Dylan’s grandfather married us. Flowers were done by our family friends, middle school friends were the bartenders, the coordinator was my mom’s best friend, my reader was my godmother and the maid of honor and best man were my sister and his brother. Family and friends were all around. It made our 40-person wedding even more special.
A special memory is our generational dance. All couples came to the dance floor and sat down as years of marriage increased. My grandparents were the last ones dancing, having been married for 61 years!!
