Bridal Hair Styling & Expert Tips with Laureta Martini: Finding Your Perfect Wedding Hairstyle: Tips, Trends, and Styling Advice

Bridal Hairstylist Expert Tips

Your bridal hairstyle is just as important as your wedding dress. It frames your face, completes your overall look and needs to stay absolutely flawless from the moment you walk down the aisle to the very last dance of the evening.

Beyond the technical execution, your bridal hairstyle is deeply personal. It’s an expression of your style, personality and confidence on one of the most important days of your life. This makes choosing the right stylist and the perfect hairstyle a crucial decision in your overall bridal planning.

We spoke with Munich based bridal hairstylist Laureta Martini. She shared her professional insights on the latest bridal hairstyle trends, explained how to choose the perfect style for your wedding dress and provided expert tips to ensure your hair looks healthy, shiny and breathtaking on your wedding day.

Expert Q&A with Bridal Hair Stylist Laureta Martini

From the first trial appointment to the final touches on the wedding morning, bridal styling is an art form. Below, Laureta shares her expertise and answers the most frequently asked questions about creating the perfect bridal look.

How does professional bridal hairstyling differ from an everyday look, and why is it so important for the wedding day?

“A bridal hairstyle is about much more than looking beautiful. It needs to withstand every hug, every happy tear, changing weather conditions and an entire day of celebrations while still looking flawless from the first photo to the last dance. That’s why I use specialized techniques and professional products that provide long-lasting hold without compromising comfort. Every bride also has unique hair, personal preferences and her own style, so creating a customized hairstyle that feels timeless, comfortable and completely authentic is always my priority.”

Every bride wants a look that reflects her true personality. How do you choose the perfect bridal hairstyle, and which factors play the biggest role?

“Every bridal hairstyle begins with getting to know the bride. While inspiration photos are helpful, I also consider the wedding dress, the neckline, the overall wedding aesthetic and, of course, the bride’s natural hair texture. A beautiful bridal hairstyle should enhance who you are, not transform you into someone else. That’s why I place so much value on an in-depth consultation and bridal hair trial, where we can create a look that feels like the most confident and elevated version of yourself.”

The neckline of the wedding dress is absolutely crucial for the overall look. We are showing you six different True Society wedding dresses below. Which bridal hairstyle do you recommend for each of these necklines and why?

V-Neckline

“Soft waves or a loose low bun beautifully complement the elegant lines of a V-neck without covering the neckline, creating an effortlessly refined look.”

Strapless Neckline

“A strapless gown offers incredible versatility. Glamorous Hollywood waves or an elegant updo both highlight the shoulders and décolletage beautifully.”

Off-the-Shoulder

“A relaxed low bun or a half-up hairstyle with soft face-framing pieces enhances the romantic feel of an off-the-shoulder gown while maintaining balance throughout the look.”

Square Neckline

“Timeless waves or a modern half-up hairstyle create clean, harmonious lines that perfectly complement the structured neckline.”

Sweetheart Neckline

“A classic chignon or glamorous soft waves echo the feminine shape of the sweetheart neckline, creating a beautifully romantic bridal aesthetic.”

Halter Neckline

“For a halter neckline, I recommend an elegant updo or sleek bun to showcase the neckline and allow the distinctive design of the dress to remain the focal point.

Ultimately, the most beautiful bridal hairstyle is always the one that complements your wedding dress, reflects your personality and feels true to your overall bridal style.”

From delicate veils to sparkling hair accessories, how do you integrate these elements harmoniously without overwhelming the bridal hairstyle?

“When it comes to bridal accessories, less is often more. I always choose veils and hair accessories that complement both the hairstyle and the wedding dress, while also reflecting the overall style of the wedding. Every element should work together harmoniously rather than competing for attention, creating a timeless and beautifully balanced bridal look.”

“Right now, we’re seeing a strong move toward timeless, elegant hairstyles. Modern textured updos, sleek polished buns and soft Hollywood waves continue to be among the most requested styles. Many brides are also choosing more natural volume and effortless finishes because they want a hairstyle they’ll still love when they look back at their wedding photos years from now.”

A bridal styling trial is essential. How should brides prepare for this appointment, and what do they need to bring to get the most out of the experience?

“I always recommend collecting a few inspirational images beforehand and, if possible, bringing a photo of your wedding dress. This helps us create a hairstyle that complements your complete bridal look. At the same time, it’s important to stay open to professional advice, as not every hairstyle works with every hair type or face shape. Together, we can find the style that suits you best.”

How do you ensure the bridal hairstyle stays flawless from the first photo to the last dance and which techniques do you use?

“A long-lasting bridal hairstyle starts with proper hair preparation. I tailor every hairstyle to the bride’s individual hair texture and use professional products alongside secure styling techniques that provide reliable hold throughout the day. Whether it’s warm weather, wind or hours on the dance floor, the hairstyle is designed to last beautifully from beginning to end.”

From an organizational standpoint, how does the wedding morning usually unfold, and how much time should a bride allocate for her hair styling?

“I generally recommend setting aside around three hours for hair and makeup. This gives us enough time to create the look in a relaxed atmosphere without feeling rushed and allows for any final adjustments before the celebrations begin. Starting the wedding day calmly is just as important as the styling itself.”

What is your number one piece of advice for brides to feel completely natural, confident and comfortable in their chosen hairstyle?

“Choose a hairstyle that feels like you rather than simply following a trend. The most beautiful brides are always the ones who feel comfortable, confident and authentic. When you truly recognise yourself in your bridal look, that confidence naturally shines through all day long.”

Do you have any final advice for brides as they put together their perfect wedding look?

“Trust your instincts, both when choosing your bridal style and when selecting the professionals who will help bring your vision to life. Good planning is important, but once your wedding day arrives, allow yourself to be fully present and enjoy every moment. Those genuine emotions are what make the day unforgettable, and a timeless bridal look paired with true confidence will always outlast passing trends.”

Bridal Hair Care: Preparing for Your Wedding Day

Beyond styling on the day itself, preparing your hair in the weeks leading up to your wedding is equally important. Laureta recommends scheduling your bridal trial at least 2-3 weeks before your wedding day, allowing time for any adjustments. In the weeks prior, focus on maintaining healthy hair through deep conditioning treatments and minimizing heat styling. This ensures your hair is in optimal condition for your stylist to work with on the actual wedding day.

Create Your Own Unforgettable Look

Your wedding day is a collection of beautiful moments. Whether it is the breathtaking elegance of your wedding dress or the perfect placement of your bridal hairstyle, every detail contributes to your unique story.

As you curate your bridal look, it helps to partner with experienced professionals who understand both your vision and your individuality. From your bridal stylist to your hairstylist, these experts bring your entire aesthetic together.
