KAYLA, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
Reece and I met while we were in university together. Even though we were studying completely different subjects, we ended up meeting and going out for ice cream together. The connection was instant.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROPOSAL LIKE?
After three years together, Reece proposed at Trigg beach during golden hour. I was completely surprised! My friends had convinced me that we were simply having a sunset dinner by the beach. It was the most beautiful and unexpected moment.
DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.
I knew that I wanted simple, elegant and figure-hugging for my wedding day. While I was still open to trying gowns of different styles, I was ultimately drawn to my dress because of its sophisticated simplicity. Everything about it felt perfect—from the sweetheart neckline to the waist-snatching bodice and the stunning charmeuse fabric that draped effortlessly.

I attended my bridal appointment at True Society by myself, which made the experience feel intimate and empowering. From the moment I walked in, everyone on the True Crew was incredibly warm and welcoming. I could tell that my Bridal Stylist was genuinely excited to help find the perfect dress for me.
The most beautiful range of gowns was selected for me to try, which made the process feel effortless and enjoyable. I tried on three dresses before stepping into THE ONE in Essense of Australia D4034. I almost cried at how beautiful the dress was and, even more, because of how it made me feel.
Even though I had attended the appointment alone, it truly felt like I was surrounded by friends. Every True Crew member who walked past offered a kind compliment, and many even paused to congratulate me when I said “yes” to my dress. The experience was incredibly special and unforgettable.
HOW DID YOU FEEL IN YOUR GOWN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
On the day of my wedding, I felt confident, comfortable and quite literally, cool, as our wedding was in the middle of summer! More than anything, I felt like I was stepping into a new chapter of my life. Wearing this dress not only made me feel like a bride, but a new version of myself.
The style was a bold departure from my usual look, but that’s what made it so special. For the first time, I felt completely comfortable celebrating my body and showing off my curves. The dress gave me a sense of confidence that I will never forget.
HOW DID REECE REACT WHEN HE SAW YOU IN YOUR WEDDING DRESS?
When Reece turned around and saw me walking down the aisle, he gave me the biggest smile before immediately bursting into tears. It was one of my favorite moments from the day. He absolutely loved my wedding dress and kept telling me how perfect it was for me.

Our wedding was intimate, fun and relaxed. We kept the guest list small, only inviting close friends and family, which made the day feel personal and comfortable for everyone. We had a tropical outdoor ceremony which perfectly complemented our bridal party colors—shades of green. Our reception was an intimate dinner celebration that had a cozy, moody atmosphere.
WHAT WAS THE MOST SPECIAL MEMORY FROM THE DAY?
One of the most special parts of the night was entertainment. We had a live band made up of talented Perth musicians, many of whom had studied with my husband. We also surprised our guests with a performance by Lavi Sega, a Mauritian dance group based in Perth.
DID YOU INCORPORATE ANY SPECIAL, CULTURAL OR FAMILY TRADITIONS?
After our first dance, the Mauritian dancers performed a traditional Sega routine before inviting us, our parents and eventually all of our guests onto the dance floor. It was such a joyful moment and a beautiful way to incorporate Mauritian culture into our wedding celebration.
