From mountain trails to wedding vows, Kate and Daniel’s love story is rooted in adventure and the great outdoors. After meeting online and bonding over camping, hiking, and skiing, their journey led to a dreamy forest wedding in the Pacific Northwest—complete with wildflowers and a shot-ski unity ceremony! Kate’s ethereal Essense of Australia style D4038 gown complemented the natural beauty of their venue, with 3-D floral lace and flowy sleeves that echoed the blooms all around.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE AT TRUE SOCIETY.
From the pre-appointment calls, True Society by The White Dress in Portland made my dress shopping experience a joy! My stylist, Emma, hyped me up and really gave me a feel for all the options. I found my dress at the very end of the last appointment. I knew it was the one, but I wanted to sit on the decision and came back for a second appointment, which was just as good an experience!

DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.
I wanted something ethereal and floral for our forested wedding venue, highlighting our love for the outdoors. My dress definitely hit the mark, and the 3-D floral lace and flowy sleeves were a dream! I felt absolutely radiant on my wedding day, and the natural flowers at the venue (so lucky they were blooming!) went so well with the look.

HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR PARTNER?
Daniel and I met online and bonded over our love for the outdoors! We love camping, hiking and especially skiing together.

WHAT WAS THE PROPOSAL LIKE?
We were on a weekend getaway and going for a scenic drive in the mountains when we came upon a beachy lake with a mountain view. It was right by the Pacific Crest Trail—a long-distance hiking trail I had completed in 2019, and it was very meaningful to me. He popped the question there, short and sweet.

HOW DID YOU MAKE YOUR WEDDING PERSONAL TO YOUR LOVE STORY?
Having an outdoor wedding was important to us, and the tree deck ceremony space at our venue made it possible. Total Pacific Northwest vibes! We incorporated local mountain names as our table numbers, and the florals were reminiscent of wildflowers you’d see on the mountain. We also wanted a fun unity ceremony and ended up doing a shot ski during our ceremony to showcase our shared love of skiing! We spray-painted a real ski with “The Grockis” on the bottom so everyone would see as we took our shot! It was a huge hit.
Congratulations Kate and Daniel!
