KAT, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
Matt and I met in 2017 in Delray Beach, Florida! We were both new to the area. I’m originally from the Kansas City, Missouri area and he’s from Boulder, Colorado. While dating and getting to know each other we explored the state by snorkeling, hiking, camping, boating, fishing, beaching and doing all the “Florida things.”
The proposal was intimate and low key- just like us! Matt proposed on my 35th birthday by telling me he had “one more little gift” for me after my birthday dinner! The proposal was by the water, and it was so beautiful!

I was looking for a timeless, sleek and chic gown and that’s exactly what I got! Everyone at True Society by Belle Vogue Bridal in Kansas City was so kind and helpful. Our wedding day was an absolute dream come true! We did a black and white timeless aesthetic. I wore big Hollywood curls and red lipstick to elevate my chic wedding gown. Our wedding party was strictly made up of our brothers, sisters and their partners! Our officiant was my sister’s husband, and he made our ceremony authentic and personal to us by sharing memories of Matt and me.
The most special memories from the day were the first look and private last dance before our send-off! The last dance was a punk rock song from the early 2000s and it was so unserious. We just jumped and danced around, belting out the lyrics. The first look was surprisingly romantic and is a moment I’ll always cherish!
