From college friends to lifelong partners, True Bride Maya and Zach share a sacred love story, reflected by a stunning Michigan wedding. The pair were surrounded by loved ones on their most special day and Maya’s brother shared a personal and sentimental message as he officiated the ceremony.
At the altar, Maya was radiant in Essense of Australia Style D4145, a gorgeous princess-style ballgown that she paired with a dramatic blue bow on the back.
MAYA, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?

We met in college in 2019 and were friends for about a year, then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we had more time to connect and the rest is history! We had to endure a lot of long-distance time, as he is a professional baseball player and pursued that dream for the entirety of our dating years, but we made it work through the highs and lows.
He proposed to me on my birthday and disguised it as a faux birthday dinner date and hotel stay at the Amway Grand Plaza. I was not expecting it even in the slightest! When he saw the dress and I was able to ask him what he thought, he said it was not what he was expecting at all and loved it more than what he thought he would. And yes, he cried when he saw me!
DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE AND TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE AT TRUE SOCIETY
I quite literally wanted to look like a princess. I knew that this was going to be the only time in my life where I could truly feel like a bride, so I wanted to feel and look the most extravagant and elegant and Essense of Australia Style D4145 was THE dress for me. Overall, my bridal style was regal, soft and graceful. I felt just like that on the wedding day itself, and even more so I felt like myself in my dress. There were a lot of dress styles that I loved, but they didn’t quite feel like me.

I found my dream dress at True Society in Grand Rapids! What I loved most was the variety of styles they had to offer. This shop is so diverse and has a dress for literally anyone and everyone regardless of style and price point. My stylist made me feel so comfortable, she was actually very similar in personality to me which made the whole process feel a bit easier.
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.

The thing that sticks out to me most about our wedding day was that my big brother officiated. He has always been a shy, quiet man of God and so when we asked him to officiate, he was a bit nervous. It was the most beautiful and sentimental wedding ceremony message I have ever heard.
In addition, the people who celebrated with us at our wedding made our big day so special. These were the people that watched our love story grow and bloom into forever, and they witnessed and celebrated our marriage. It was so moving and profound to see everyone we love and cherish in one room.
