College sweethearts Hana and Brenden met during their junior year at Arizona State University while living in the same student housing. From there, their connection just felt right. Over four years, they built a strong foundation.
When Brenden proposed, Hana had a feeling it was coming, but the moment still took her by surprise. Their wedding planning journey led them to a special destination—Hawaii—where they created an intimate and meaningful celebration with their closest family and friends.
Hana looked radiant as she walked down the aisle in Stella York Style 7601, a silk A-line with statement puff sleeves. The gown’s fun, classy design complemented the couple’s tropical Hawaiian ceremony.
From a heartfelt “first touch” to a stunning bridal look that was everything Hana had dreamed of, their big day was truly unforgettable. Let’s take a closer look at their journey to “I do.”
HANA, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
My husband, Brenden, is from Wisconsin, and I’m from Arizona. We met during our junior year at Arizona State University while living in the same student housing and from there, things just clicked. After dating for over four years, surviving the Covid-19 pandemic, adopting our cat and facing some tough times together, we really grew stronger as a couple.
I had a feeling a proposal might be coming, maybe around the five-year mark, but when he actually popped the question, I was completely surprised! It was such a joyful moment, and I couldn’t wait to start planning both our wedding and our future. The one thing I really hoped for on our wedding day was for him to cry when he saw me walking down the aisle—and he did. Goal accomplished!

DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.
I had a very specific vision for my gown saved on Pinterest –— with unique slip-on sleeves – — and the True Crew at True Society in Mesa made it a reality with Stella York Style 7601. I wanted to feel like a princess with a bow at the back and they made that happen too. When I saw my final wedding pictures, they were nearly identical to what I had imagined.
I felt absolutely incredible in my wedding dress—more beautiful than I ever have in my entire life. As someone who is usually very nitpicky and often critical of myself, I was left completely speechless. Since sharing my wedding photos on social media, the most frequent compliment I’ve received is how unique my dress was compared to other brides’, which is exactly what I had hoped for. I wanted to feel unique, beautiful and one-of-a-kind and True Society made that dream come true.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE AT TRUE SOCIETY.
Just when I was starting to feel burnt out from the search for my dream dress, The True Society store in Mesa came to the rescue and completely transformed my bridal experience. The team truly listened to me—they took my body shape, preferences and vision into account and helped me find exactly what I had been looking for.
From the moment I walked in, the True Crew made me feel comfortable and confident in my choices. They were incredibly hospitable and attentive throughout the entire process, from the first appointment to the fittings and finally to the dress pick-up—it was all seamless. One of my biggest challenges was finding the perfect sleeves and True Society delivered beyond my expectations. They brought my dream Pinterest dress to life, down to every detail!

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.
Brenden and I knew we wanted to do something different for our wedding—something that would stand out from what our friends and family had done. We figured, if people were going to travel to see us get married, why not escape the scorching June heat in Arizona and pick a place none of us had been to before? That’s how we decided on Hawaii. We kept it small and intimate, with fewer than 50 guests, and it meant the world to have everyone who truly mattered to us there. The setting was perfect—Waikiki’s stunning beaches, palm trees swaying in the breeze and the most special people in our lives surrounding us.
One of our favorite moments was doing a “first touch” instead of a “first look,” where we held hands but didn’t see each other before the ceremony. We wanted to keep some suspense for the big aisle moment, but we privately shared our vows with one another during that time. It was such an intimate way to connect before the ceremony began. We also added a special touch with a traditional Hawaiian ceremony, complete with Hawaiian music and an exchange of vows, symbolizing our love and commitment to each other. It truly couldn’t have been more perfect.

Cheers to Hana and Brenden!
